2023 Soccer Season
MMS Soccer Updates: Winter Indoor Soccer Registration is now open
Our 2023 summer soccer season was a huge success! A big thank you goes out to our many coaches and refs who came out and helped make the season a fun one for all involved.
We also concluded another Fall outdoor session, where some of our most die-hard players came back for more fun at the fields. We focused on drills followed up full-field scrimmages where players worked on passing, in-game communication and team work. Plus as many games of “Lightening” as we could squeeze in each week as the days got shorted and darker. Thank you for to everyone who came out to play!
Starting December 5th, we are also excited to offer another Indoor soccer session. This year we will be running “futsol” style drills and scrimmages. Futsol is style of indoor soccer designed for play on a hard surface. Futsol balls are different too, heavier so players can focus less on big high kicks and instead focus on ball control and passing in smaller spaces. The game emphasizes control, improvisation, creativity and technique. Please contact registermarkdalesoccer@gmail.com if you’re interesting in signing up – a notice will be sent shortly with registration information. The indoor schedule is as follows:
U8/U10: Starts Tuesday December 5, 6:30 – 7:30, Tuesdays at Beavercrest Community School. We will run until March 5. There will be no soccer December 26 or January 2.
U12/U15: Starts Thursday December 7, 6:30 – 7:30, Thursdays at Macphail Memorial Elementary School. We will run until March 7. There will be no soccer December 28 or January 4.
At this time we are not offering indoor at the U4 or U6 age levels. If you are interested in volunteering to coach, email us at markdalesoccer@gmail.com.
